This tapestry is handwoven from 100% cotton yarns and fabrics. It is woven in the Theo Moorman tapestry inlay tecnique with an assortment of deconstructed kantha cloths which includes layers of recycled saris handstitched together by women in Bengal. The fabric strips are inlaid onto a "warp" of cotton threads. The tapestry measures 8 1/2" X 12" and is mounted on cotton twill fabric over a stretched cotton canvas measuring 12" X 16". It is backed with a dust cover and is wired for hanging.
