This tapestry is handwoven on a loom with 100% cotton yarn and a cotton Japanese print fabric. The fabric is deconstructed and the individual strips are laid into the warp yarns threaded on the loom. The resulting "picture" is of a mysterious Japanese geisha. The weave pattern is a tapestry inlay technique known as Theo Moorman tapestry technique. The piece itself measures 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" and it is mounted onto a twill fabric over a stretched cotton canvas measuring 10" X 10". It is backed with a dust cover and is wired for hanging.
