Desert Sky is a hand thrown bowl with square windows cut out along the sides of the bowl. The glaze is a grayish brown with purple undertones and white dots of stars in a desert sky. A clay spider and several glazed stones appear in the windows. The stones are attached to a narrow handwoven band that is inserted around the bowl's interior. The bottom of the bowl is a cutout circle in which lies a circular weaving of textured yarns with black clay beads on the inside of the bowl. The diameter of the bowl measures 9" with a depth of 6". The clay bowl is created by Memphis potter Patricia Schwarz and the handwoven bands and woven circular element are by Felicitas Sloves.
