Handwoven tapestry and hand formed clay work in concert for this dreamy beach scene. The hand formed clay shapes represent a blue sky and a sandy beach. Horn and fossil stone beads as well as bits of sheet mica embellish the clay. A handwoven tapestry of wool and cotton representing the ocean and a darkening sky lies between the beach and sky. The tapestry has embroidered elements and is embellished with glass and silver beads. The entire piece is mounted to a cotton covered stretched canvas measuring 20" X 16" X 1 1/2" and is wired for hanging. Handformed clay is created by Memphis potter Patricia Schwarz. Handwoven tapestry is woven by Felicitas Sloves.
